The City of Lowden Public Works Position
The City of Lowden, population 807, is seeking a full-time, 40-hour per week public works employee. Health insurance benefits are available after 60 days of employment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- A current CDL with air brake endorsement is required, or the ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment.
- Grade I - State of Iowa certification in water and wastewater treatment is preferred. Must be able to obtain certification within two years of hire and wastewater II certification after three years of hire.
- Must be flexible to complete weekend water checks every other weekend and rotating holiday checks.
- Must be available to work non-traditional hours during city needs or emergencies.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Water/sewer system operations
- Garbage/recycling/leaf pickup (lifting required)
- Equipment repair
- Street and road maintenance
- Building and ground duties
- Other restrictions may apply.

- Salary is based on qualifications.
- Background, drug, and alcohol testing will be performed prior to employment.
