The City will begin weekly recycling pickup on Tuesdays, instead of the current every-other-week schedule.
This change is being made in response to an increase in the amount of recycling being set out. Recently, the volume has exceeded what can fit in the recycling trailer, resulting in some recycling being collected with regular garbage. By moving to weekly pickup, residents can set out recycling more frequently, which should reduce overflow and keep recycling loads manageable.
Important: Please have your recycling set out by 7:00 a.m. on pickup day. If your recycling is not out when the crew passes, it will need to be held until the following week’s pickup.
This schedule change will remain in place going forward. The City will monitor how the weekly pickup works in practice, and the City Council may revisit the schedule in the future if adjustments are needed.
Residents are encouraged to place recycling out weekly and continue following all existing recycling guidelines.
