General Guidelines
- All items must be clean and free of food, grease, dirt, or residue.
- Place items loose in the blue recycling container (no bags).
- Plastic bags are not accepted.
- Small cardboard: Break down and place in the recycle container.
- Large cardboard: Take to the City Shop, 618 Main Street (open 7 days a week, no time restrictions).
- Containers with non-acceptable items will be rejected in full.
- Recycling is collected every other Tuesday. Check the garbage/recycling calendar.

Items You CAN Recycle
- Newspapers, magazines, catalogs, mail
- Greeting cards (no metallic or glitter)
- Office paper, shredded paper, phone books
- Paperback books; hardback books (covers removed)
- Cereal, snack, and soda cartons
- Shoe boxes, tissue boxes, toilet/paper towel rolls
- Corrugated cardboard (small = in bin, large = City Shop)
- Food containers (metal, aluminum, paper-based)
- Tin/metal food cans (labels removed preferred)
- Aluminum cans, foil, and pans
- Coffee cans, chip cans (e.g., Pringles)
- Water, milk, juice, and soft drink cartons
- Household cleaner, detergent, cosmetic, lotion, and soap containers
- Paper egg cartons
Items You CANNOT Recycle
- Food-contaminated containers (e.g., pizza boxes)
- Styrofoam
- Plastic bags
- Glass (bottles, jars, dishes, window panes)
- Ceramic dishes
- Wrapping paper or gift wrap
- Batteries
- Propane cylinders, aerosol cans
- Plastic toys
- Outdoor furniture
- Metal scraps, building materials
